Business description

Opportunity to acquire the business and assets of an established branded consumer electronics and travel accessories business operating within the airline, inflight retail and duty free sectors.

The business specialises in the sourcing and supply of branded electrical accessories and travel products, including charging and power products, audio accessories and travel comfort items, manufactured in China through established supply chain relationships and distributed primarily to airlines, inflight retail operators and duty free retailers.

The business has historically traded through longstanding industry relationships and repeat customer channels developed over a number of years, with products supplied pursuant to formal tender processes and seasonal range reviews. Please note however that the Director informs us that there are no ongoing contracts and that all supply contracts are tendered for on a bi-annual basis.

The Company operates via a lean operational structure comprising four employees, serviced office premises and outsourced warehousing and fulfilment arrangements, resulting in a relatively asset-light platform with limited fixed infrastructure overhead.

Key features include:

  • Established own-brand consumer electronics and travel accessories platform;
  • Relationships within the airline, inflight retail and duty free sectors;
  • Approximately 17 active SKUs across charging, audio and travel comfort categories;
  • Established Chinese manufacturing and procurement relationships;
  • Existing UK and EU fulfilment and warehousing infrastructure;

  • Existing stock holdings and goods in transit, available by separate negotiation;

Whilst the business maintains a Shopify-based online storefront, historically the majority of turnover has been generated through direct B2B relationships within the airline and travel retail sectors, with limited emphasis placed upon broader direct-to-consumer sales and marketing initiatives.

The products themselves are not protected by proprietary product IP, with value instead deriving from the established brand presence, sector relationships, procurement infrastructure and existing route to market.

Accordingly, the opportunity may be particularly attractive to purchasers seeking to expand the existing product offering, increase SKU count and/or utilise the established platform and brand presence as a route into the wider B2C consumer electronics and accessories market.

The Company experienced significant disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic as a consequence of the substantial downturn in global travel and associated retail activity. Notwithstanding this, the business continues to trade and retains an established operational framework, active supply chain relationships and sector presence.
